RIOT GRRL COMEDY

We want to make a hilarious comedy starring a cast full of women. We want to make a movie that makes us laugh really hard and that we also see ourselves in. We want to make a comedy where the women steal the show. Where they get to fart, fight and fuck as good as the boys and in the end still, get the last laugh. We think girls are funny and we want the chance to prove it.

In keeping with our girl power theme, we've chosen to keep the staff our entire creative team with women. We did this, not only to make the movie we want to see, but to serve as an inspiration to female filmmakers all over the world.

As we worked to bring women into the process of making this movie, we were blown away at the talent that agreed to sign up. So, to prove what this team could do, we shot a 3 minute teaser called "Olive and Mocha: Fast Times at Sugar High". The short takes our two main characters and visits them as small children in the 80's. You can see it above in our main video or watch it below.

The Producers of "Olive and Mocha" have been engaged in the process of making this film since the spring of 2010. We started off by setting up the appropriate legal frameworks and bringing on a trusted Line Producer who developed a sound budget for the project. After locking in several key positions like Director and DP, we took the script to the American Film Market in August 2010 to meet with dozens of production companies and test the waters. Not only is this an untapped genre, but we're on the front lines of a, soon to be, hot topic... raunchy girl comedies. Natalie Portman's got her fingers in two to be released and we know, if Natalie's in, we're on the right track.

A good movie starts with a good script and "Olive and Mocha" is not only funny and fresh, but its also got tons of attitude. Stay tuned to hear the rest of this story as it unfolds.
